Assistant Professor of Biology (Ecology), Dept. of Biology and Chemistry

My research interest addresses questions in the ecology and evolution of interactions between organisms. I have had a good mixture of behavioral ecology, wildlife ecology and spatial ecology in my research career. My research work and data collection have ranged from natural protected areas (wildlife national parks) to controlled and manipulated environments (aviary, “habitron”). I am also very much focused towards conservation in natural areas and I aim to connect animal behavior and behavioral ecology with conservation management. As a trained Geographic Information Systems (GIS) specialist, I strive to use its functionality in understanding spatial patterns in ecology and wildlife sciences. I am also interested in studying novel interactions ("Indirect interactions") in nature that are overlooked or ignored.
